Sometimes we all revert to the way things used to be. Some never change, and therefore never revert, but many people grow and evolve during life.
About two years ago, I sold my Grey BMW to a friend. My friend is a good person, but is not the most responsible individual on the planet. So I sold the car and sent my paperwork to the DMV. That was two years ago.
When I visited my parents this weekend, there was a letter there from the Orange County Sheriffs Department. The Grey ’85 BMW had been towed due to lack of registration. It hadn’t been registered for two years. So it was towed and about to be auctioned.
So why was this letter coming to me? After all, I sold the car and signed and shipped the papers. Well, the car was never transferred to the new owner by the new owner. So now they want to charge me for the impound and the tow. Yeah, I don’t think so. Auction that car and don’t send me the bill.

Today I went to The Grove for lunch. I wanted to flip through some art books at Barnes & Nobel. So I did. Here’s the good part, the Apple Store had half of the store covered with white sheets and they had a guard standing there so no one could sneak-a-peek at whatever was hiding behind the grand curtain. What part of the Apple store was covered? The half of the store that has all the PowerMac and Apple Displays. Looks like the upgrades are coming soon.

This morning our computer network was DOWN. I got paid to play solitaire for 4 hours. I would have preferred a phone call at home telling me to sleep in. Maybe next time.
Never sell a car to someone you know. Thanks for the mention…
So then sell your car to someone you don’t know who could be just as flighty?
When you sell your car to someone you know, you’re asking for trouble. If something goes wrong with the car (whether you knew about it or not) they are going to feel like you screwed them. If the asshole doesn’t register the car for two years and you get the bill, then it screws-up the friendship. It’s better if you never have to see the person again. Same thing with recommending someone for a job… Trust me, I know.
It’s even worse when you recommend somebody for a job selling cars to your friends.
That wasn’t funny, was it?
I chuckled.
No, MikeyMike was right. That wasn’t funny.
