The 1st day of spring

The storm has passed. We are moved in but still have boxes to unload. The girls have a lot of stuff and nowhere to put it. So they say. The weekend went smoothly. My parent’s 35th anniversary party was a success. The food was great and the cake was amazing. We bought it at Patty Cakes in Pasadena, CA (for those of you who dont know where Pasadena is). The taco-lady cooked up some killer meat and the margaritas were mixed well (by me of course). So that party has passed and I am starting to relax.

Caroline and I are moving stuff here, buying stuff there, and basically trying to get comfortable in the new place. There are those few days when you feel like you are visiting, but then you start to just get comfy and next thing you know you are leaving stuff here and there. We went to Pier 1 to look at furniture. The majority of our conversations went as follows:
“That’s nice, right?” – Caroline
“Sure, but what exactly do we need it for?” – Me
“We can put stuff on it.” – Caroline
“Oh yeah, what stuff?” – Me
“I don’t know, just stuff. Do you like it?” – Caroline
“I guess, I just dont fully understand what we need it for.” – Me
“Guys just don’t get it.” – Random woman walking out of Pier 1
“I think I get it, it’s just that I moved 29 boxes of stuff and now she thinks we should have a case to put more stuff on so that when we move again we’ll have 58 boxes of heavy, useless STUFF!!” – NIMH

So we ended up buying a hamper and an OLD ottoman (no relation to the powerful and once dominate empire). We are looking for a loveseat (different from a sofa only in size, or so I am told) and several rugs to cover up the amazing hardwood floors we now have. Let me know if you have any of that laying around your house.

Also on Sunday, I went to see Frank Franco, tax man. He processed and filed my 2003 and 2004 taxes. For 2003, I had prepared them via turbo-tax and ended up owing $474. But after visiting Frank, I received a refund. Thanks Frank. Overall, for the 2 years combined, I will be getting back around $850. So it turned out to be a slightly profitable weekend.

And finally, today is the first day of spring and the actual day of my parents’ anniversary. So Happy anniversary, and everybody else, go make some babies.

  1. When I write my entries in MS Word and copy them into MT, some marks are not recoginized and end up as “?”. It sucks because I try to find them all, but I always miss one or two. If anybody knows of a solution, please let me know.

  2. Dude. There is info about the new Halo2 Multiplayer maps on bungie.net

    That is all.
