A Wise Guy

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Hope you and yours had a great turkey day. Caroline and I spent the day at my parents house on Thursday. Caroline’s family and my family broke bread together. It was a wonderful time. Very anti-movie family dining. My brother flew in from Phoenix for the weekend and I picked him up from Burbank Airport on Thursday morning. Then we had some breakfast and headed to my parents.

On Friday, Caroline, Toby, Jung and I headed to my co-workers house for some “hangin’ out”. We spoke of dreams, wants, and world domination. Michael Jung will take over the world…soon. Be warned.

Saturday was spent heading to the West Side to run some errands. That evening, Caroline, her brother and I headed to the Alex Theater in Glendale to watch the Three Stooges film festival. It was a great set of shorts. I’ve never been a Three Stooges fan, but watching these on the screen with a packed audience was pretty cool. It really made the experience something unforgettable.

Sunday was lazy. I’ve been sitting her doing some work and working on my web sites and this blog. I need to update my site and resume. Something creative so I’ve been looking over web design and production sites. Killer stuff, are you jealous?

My Oh My

So I just installed the new FIREFOX here on my office computer and it gave me a link to some cool Extensions. Well one of them is my new favorite. It’s called FoxyTunes and it places a media player control bar in the lower right corner of the browser. Now I can minimize iTunes and control my play list right from the browser. It’s going to save me a lot of application switching.

It also runs several other media players (including Pandora and OpenPandora), so I’m sure it will become the new HOTNESS soon enough.

I'm changing my name

From now on, you can refer to me as MON7EZ (also spelled mon7ez)- yes, that’s montez with a 7 insteadof a T. Why, I don’t know, but I think it will be cool. The graphic options alone will make the $7.99 godaddy.com fees worth it. I gotta get out there, brand myself, like NIKE or DreamWorks. You say those names and you know what you’re getting…shoes or movies.

So watch for more things to come from Mon7ez

That was a GREAT GAME!!

I need to go to the gym right now, but I wanted to add this video of Wii gameplay to the left navigation. I am very excited about the Wii. It looks FUN. The games look great and the interactivity of the controller is exciting. Do I think that the Wii will replace the XBOX or PS3? No, but it’s going to fill a niche that those systems will be lacking. Easy games that are easy to use and fun to play. I’m sure there will be some games that are HALO-esq in regards to game play and graphics, but Nintendo is not trying to trump HALO.

Interactivity within sports games like Madden should be cool. So I am excited about the Wii. I’ll take one for Christmas, thanks.

Back on the Horse

We it’s been a while since I made any updates to the site. I don’t really have time at work, unless I steal it. Which it did this afternoon. As you can see, I add the left column. I still need to add some navigation and CSS the inside pages.

I added a youTube video to the site, I will be changing on a regular basis. Send me your youTube links so I can feature it on the site.

Additionally, I need to start BLOGGING again. Work is cool, I should write about those people. Very youthful and mid-twenties-ish. Look for those blogs to follow, I promise.

A lot of parents have sex in late January and early February. Happy birthday to all the OCT babies. Jung, Caroline, Keri (where are you now?) Matthew, Albert and I know I am missing two more.

Get a Hobby

I have been spending a lot of time at my gym, LA Fitness. In fact, I haven’t been to the gym this much since college. Usually, a group of us go at lunch for a quick cardio workout. Then, after work, I go back to the gym for some additional cardio and some light weights.

Caroline and I are sticking to our diet and part of that includes going to the gym. But I am begining to understand why some people look to the outdoors for entertainment. I would like to try surfing. But my body is not ready yet. By the time we go to Hawaii for the Buller Wedding, I want to be surfing. Several of the people at Agent Image are surfers. They go before work and sometimes after as well. They talk about the waves, the ride, the peace, the high.

It remindes me of my jogging days. About 30 minutes into the run, there was no one around me. I was on a runners high. It was a great feeling, but one that is lacking when you are straped to a machine. So I need a hobby. An active hobby. Any suggestions?

A CFC Free Weekend

On Sunday, Caroline and I went to Pasadena to view “An Inconvenient Truth“. I liked it. It presented the info in a detailed but simple way. Stats are always difficult to present. One, they can be boring, and two, stats can be manipulated. So whenever I see a lot of stats, I tend to place half or 3/4 merit on the info. But it was a good movie.

One of the more important items that I took from the movie was that I really miss owning a Mac Laptop. Did you see that presentation, it was sweet and I think it was created on Keynote, the Apple presentation software. Very cool graphics and animation. Now I don’t even do presentations or anything, but that was pretty cool.

Al Gore
was pretty compelling. Had he presented himself like this during the 2000 election, he would have won in a landslide. I wonder what life would have been like if he had won?

Caroline asked a very good question/statement at the end of the film, “Why are they charging to see this movie? They should show this for free. Everybody should see this movie.” I agree.

Up next, “Who Killed the Electric Car?
