Long Day, Short Week

My Monday was spent in beautiful San Diego, CA. I had to visit the station and teach some people about publishing on the Internet. We are building an Intranet for the marketing dept. of XETV/XUPN. Guess who’s in charge? More work – yeah. Ok, as you know, I don’t like work or working. I am lazy. Just give me a paycheck and send me home early.

The reason for this amazing work ethic, who knows. In fact that was the topic of discussion during dinner w/my parents on Saturday. Questions like, “Why do you hop from career to career?” “Are you saving money for retirement or a house?” The answer, I haven’t found a job that I am in love with (who has) and no.

I have a new homepage. You may have noticed…what do you think. It’s in its bare bones stage…more links to come…stay tuned.

This week is Turkey Week 2003. I will spend my Thurs-Sat in Sanger, CA. Original home of Brian Buller and Matthew Hinojosa. Sanger is a cool place to visit. Very relaxing, affordable, and friendly. As far as I know, no one hates me there…yet. A full post-Sanger report will follow.

And finally, Matthew is on his way to Aussi-land. If I know his travel habits, he should be home before Brian and I return from Sanger. Perhaps him and Brian will travel across Mexico and visit a Taco Bell. In the meantime, I will use Matt’s room as my primary location for watching porn and masturbating. Have a nice trip Matthew.

I do not want this…I need it!

Today, at lunch, I was walking to the juice place to get a smoothie. I saw three people with iPods. There are iPods all over. I see them everywhere I go. The receptionist has one, she bust it out before she goes to lunch, and she loves it.

I have come to the following conclusion…I do not want an iPod…instead, I need an iPod.

I have raved about them before, but now, I need one. It’s like crack in my system. I’m such a victim to the marketing. I want to carry all the music in the world with me. It looks so pretty, it sounds so clear, and the software is easy to use. Why don’t I have one of these wonderful toys?

In other news. I will finally be creating a web site around this Blog. I hope two things happen: 1) I actually get it done and 2) I hope it blows you away.

Cuz it's Bullshit

I only ate one piece of pie. Peach a la mode, heated. It was good. The rest of the food at the table looked ok, but I wouldn’t make a special trip out there for it. Hit the Dresden after…now I can take it off my list of LA Landmarks seen in movies. Jung bought us drinks…thank you Michael.

My car burns oil like it’s incense. So on my way to the House of Pies, I stopped at a 76 station to buy a few quarts of oil. It cost me $6. I got totally ripped-off, but I waited too long and my car needed it. Anyway, while I was putting the oil in the car (I call her the Black Knight) this lady pulls up and we have the following conversation:

  • Lady – Hey, can you tell me where the county jail is?
  • Me – Um, I don’t know, sorry.
  • Lady – (smoking cigertte, blows smoke in my direction) Oh, cuz my boyfriend was just arrested and they took him to county. Can you help me find it?
  • Me – Um, that sucks, what’d he get arrested for?
  • Lady – Some bullshit charge. They said he robbed some store and shot at a cop. But he was with me that night, so I know it’s bullshit. They want him cuz he’s Mexican and in a gang.
  • Me – Yeah, I hate when that happens, good luck.
  • Lady – Ok, do you know how to get to Melrose from here?
  • Me – No

I felt a twinge of pride in not knowing where the county jail was. Thanks mom.

Tasty Slice of HALO

Last night we played the longest HALO game in the history of 81st Street; one and one-half hours. I think we are all equal in terms of skill at this point and now our games come down to strategy and teamwork.

The parts of LOTR Two Towers that I did see were great. That is such a great film. I can’t wait to see the conclusion. I hear that Bilbo comes out the side hatch and joins Frodo and Sam in a three-way hobbit orgy while Gollum watches and jacks off in a cup. One ring to satisfy them all.

  • The transit strike is over, traffic seems to have lightened…anybody notice?
  • Star Trek Voyager is going to DVD Feb 24th…heads up Mr. Hinojosa.
  • The two MATRIX movies have made $1.047 Billion year-to-date.
  • I have heard good things about a movie called “Elephant”, anybody see it yet?

Tonight we dine on pie…I’ll have two slices please!

Nintendo – AIDS – Microwave Cake – TechnoPop

Everyday I dread coming to work. I don’t know when it happened, but it’s happening – a lot. I told them when they hired me I would stay at least one year. The year is up on January 20th. I will start think about a new career choice now. Something in the entertainment industry – music, movies, radio, television.

I had yet another business idea.
Last night, while at Blue Monday, an 80′s themed night at a club in Los Angeles, I thought, “why not have a traveling arcade”. At the club, they have several Nintendo’s and Atari’s and such, all hooked up to old TVs and sitting in front of couches. So why not have a company (party planning type) that rents (including set-up and breakdown) old video game machines for 80′s themed parties in the Southern California area. Couple it with a DJ and caterer and you have an “80′s party in a box”. How nostalgic, and you (the party host) have to do very little work. Just another idea. Let me know what you think of it.

BTW – I really enjoy Blue Monday. You should all attend at some point.

I hate the Vikings, New England, and Dallas

OK, so after starting 5-0 in the morning, I managed to end up 7-10 for the week. Totally sucked. I picked two upsets, Cinci and Jacksonville (cinci won, Jack didn’t cover the spread). But the fucking Vikings screwed me again by not winning and New England couldn’t cover the spread. Whatever. There’s always next week.

On a lighter note, the Lakers are 8-2 and the Clippers are 4-2. Not bad…so far.

I started playing SSX3 – I am totally re-addicted to PS2. The game looks great and the online feature is pretty sweet (you can play against others online). I am 1-5 in online play…but it was the first day I played, so, we’ll see.

In other game news, NFL Blitz Pro – sucks. The best Blitz is still on the Dreamcast. Jon has it, we should bust it out and renew the rivalry…bring it gents.

I have not played Tony Hawk Underground or Star Wars – Nights of the Republic. When I do, I’ll let you know.

I also read that ABC is bringing back the Mole. Sadly, it’s the Celebrity version. No word on who the “A” list clebes will be, but I imagine it will look like an episode of “I Love the 80′s”, Mo Rocka style.

So far, so good

As of half time, I’m winning every game in my parley. If I can go 10 for 10, it’s $1000 in the bank.

Went to Westwood last night, grubbed a hotdog, soda (Pepsi), and ice cream sandwich for $2.80. Finally viewed The D’s DVD. Funny stuff. I feel like I am finally in the loop (rocket sauce)!

A big CONGRATS to Albert. The world’s next great chef. He should have his own Food Network show by the year 2005. Saw some of the gang from Via Verde. Kasie got a new truck…HUGE truck.

So this guy has “a problem” with me. Oh well, I always thought he was an asshole anyway. The sweat remains on my back.

I hope The Bulldog is having a nice weekend in San Jose. Perhaps we’ll get the scoop when he gets back…perhaps not.
